Maury Brothers ledger, 1851-1856.

The ledger records company income, expenses, and accounts of company partners. Accounts of cotton shipped and exported to England and the northern United States are included, along with smaller amounts of sugar and corn. The ledger documents shipments, insurance, wages, and expenses on numerous packet boats. The ledger also records office expenses, rents, accounts at the Canal Bank, insurance costs, mail, telegraph, and printing fees, and salaries.
